Rooted in Bloom
My work explores the woman experience with a focus on community building and connection. This interest stems from my own experiences in creating communities to foster more supportive environments for myself and others. My practice centers on making printed materials and participatory design, particularly using typography and language as a way to express shared emotions and collective experiences. The intention is to encourage human interaction and offer an uplifting and inspiring experience for women as well as others. Shared experiences both reflect and shape the world around us. Through my endeavors, I seek to create meaningful connections between my work and the world they exist in.
Rooted in Bloom is a conversation card set centered on self-care and womanhood. Inspired by the sampaguita flower, it symbolizes the strength, unity, and beauty of women growing and blooming together. The set includes two collections of petal-shaped cards that unfold to form a blooming flower. Each petal reveals a thoughtful prompt that encourages conversation, connection, and self-reflection. Individuals will take turns opening a petal and sharing their responses, allowing the flower to gradually bloom through meaningful dialogue, creating space for honesty, growth, and shared experiences.
