Decay
Decay emphasizes the causes and dangers of restrictive eating disorders, particularly those shaped intensified by society’s persistent promotion of extreme thinness as an ideal body standard. It examines how cultural messages, media representation, and social pressure can contribute to harmful attitudes toward food, body image, and self-esteem, often leading individuals into cycles of under-eating and disordered behavior.

Using research, firsthand accounts, and my own personal journey, I aim to provide a better understanding of how these disorders develop and why they are so difficult to overcome. I seek to educate viewers about the wide range of physical, emotional, and psychological health risks associated with restrictive eating, including both immediate effects and long-term consequences that can persist throughout a person’s life.

My work illustrates the harrowing and debilitating nature of these conditions through visual storytelling, using a booklet, poster, and other designed materials to make these often invisible struggles more tangible and accessible.
