Growing up as an Igbo descendant in America, it has become increasingly evident to me how much my peers in America lack, concerning our culture. They have minimal to no knowledge of the culture, and they don’t realize any reason why they should. This topic was selected as a way to highlight and promote what we should be proud of.

Specifically, how (the loss of) meaning in fabrics influences the preservation of Nigerian culture and how the diaspora interacts with the (importance of the) values demonstrated within the clothing.
