Focusing on short-term action rather than large-scale infrastructure, it uses simple, low-cost, and easily replicable materials to enable rapid participation and widespread impact while informing future permanent change. By activating spaces with people and alternative uses, these interventions naturally slow cars and shift streets from car-dominated corridors into places of connection, creativity, and shared ownership, supporting more people-centered forms of movement and fostering lasting grassroots urban transformation.
