Minkyung Ko
Self [definition]
My work—design and writing—aims to materialize the vague feelings I was experiencing in the past. Through this process, I was able to identify certain events that had an impact on me throughout my life. Normally, I have a hard time describing my ideas and thoughts. They often float inside of my head, and I frantically try to keep them together. I find it difficult to properly organize and output thoughts. I lack experience, the feeling of being understood. Even when I really want to say something, I end up saying nothing.
While writing, I realized that I was forcing myself to do it in a way that would ensure the text be understood universally. I was burdened by the thought that someone might not understand what I was trying to communicate. Pivoting, I then aimed to explore a more liberated form of expression, unconstrained by the need to be easily understood.
