Musical Joy
My area of interest lies in the experience that music offers and the emotion it holds. When I listen to my favorite songs, I feel joy. Music helps me relax and brings me peace. It helps me to cope with the different emotions that I feel at the time. My playlists each represent a group of songs that bear a different emotion. When I listen to music, I also see images or snapshots of waves and organic forms of various bold colors. This sparked my interest in music being represented visually, where the invisible becomes tangible and where waveforms, timelines, motion, and spatial configurations render sound into constructs that can be interacted with physically. Design amplifies how music feels and shapes its emotional or sensory experience. Visual representation and physicality give music form, presence, and human connection, and turn something we hear into something we can see, feel, and share.
