Craft & Connect
Craft & Connect is a pop-up workshop that reimagines craft education outside of traditional studio environments. The workshop aims to be accessible and community-centered, teaching people the art of hand-making.
Today, many people feel increasingly disconnected from handmade objects and creative processes due to mass production, high studio costs, and limited access to safe, welcoming craft spaces. While interest in crafting remains strong, financial barriers and exclusivity prevent many individuals from participating in craft practices, such as ceramics, ultimately limiting opportunities for community building and skill sharing.
Craft & Connect addresses this challenge by introducing a mobile library-based educational craft program that meets people where they are. Through drop-in workshops and a transportable workstation, the project lowers barriers to entry, fosters shared creative experiences, and reconnects individuals to craft, hand-building, and one another.
