Can Life be Like a Video Game
Many of us, myself included, truly enjoy playing video games. Often, we prefer gaming to engaging with our real lives. While this might seem like a conflict—advancing in a virtual reality while lagging in our own lives—what if we could integrate video games into our everyday experiences? Video games are designed to be addictive, employing strategies such as motivational styles, emotion regulation, and intermittent reinforcement, making them more enticing than daily life. In my thesis, I will explore why video games can feel more rewarding and captivating than real-life experiences. Through graphic design, I aim to bridge the gap between virtual achievements and real-world progress. My goal is to outline practical steps for individuals to apply the skills learned from video games to enhance their often mundane everyday lives.
